Michigan State visits TCU for weekend series

TCU lefty Brandon Finnegan takes the mound Friday night for the first of the Horned Frogs’ three-game nonconference set against Michigan State at Lupton Stadium.

First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.

Finnegan brings a 2-1 record and 2.18 ERA into the game for the Frogs (8-4), who are riding a two-game win streak and play 11 of their next 13 games at home.

On Tuesday, TCU defeated Dallas Baptist 5-4 in 15 innings when Kyle Bacak scored from second on a error.

The Spartans (5-6) enter having lost five of their past six. Blaise Salter leads Michigan State with a .341 average and 11 RBIs.

Boomer White is TCU’s top hitter at .360 with 10 RBIs.

The series continues Saturday and Sunday with games at 1 p.m. each day.
