UTA women hope to regain winning ways
The UT Arlington women’s basketball team will look to recapture the momentum Saturday that back-to-back victories brought before the Mavericks’ most recent loss to Louisiana-Monroe.
The Mavericks found the win column at Georgia State and at home against Louisiana-Lafayette for the team’s first-ever Sun Belt conference wins before dropping a 70-65 decision Wednesday at Louisiana-Monroe.
UTA will host Texas State at 5 p.m. Saturday at College Park Center after dropping the teams’ first meeting in San Marcos 68-60 on Jan. 15. Since then, the Mavericks have featured strong play from center Desherra Nwanguma and forward Briana Walker.
Four players, led by forward Ashley Ezeh (13.4), average more than eight points a game for the Bobcats.
