UT Arlington women rip Lafayette for back-to-back wins

Desherra Nwanguma scored a career-high 34 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, leading the UT Arlington women past Louisiana-Lafayette 73-54 on Thursday afternoon at College Park Center.

It was the second consecutive Sun Belt Conference victory for UTA (3-18, 2-8) and first back-to-back wins since the 2010-11 season. The Ragin’ Cajuns fell to 10-11, 3-7.

“I’m proud of the team and proud for them,” UTA coach Krista Gerlich said. “They deserve this. We’ve been building confidence and putting it all together.”
