Which players from DFW will play in the 12-team College Football Playoffs?

The first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff will kick off on Friday night when Indiana travels to South Bend, Ind. to take on Notre Dame. Of the 12 teams playing for the National Championship over the next month, 119 players will represent the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

SMU will field the most local players, as 47 DFW products will lead the No. 11-seed Mustangs into a first-round playoff matchup with No. 6-seed Penn State on Saturday at 11 a.m. CST. No. 5-seed Texas has the second-most local products with 31 players.

Here is the list of players from Dallas-Fort Worth that will play in the expanded field.

The No. 1-seed Oregon Ducks will have safety Aaron Flowers (Forney), cornerback Jabbar Muhammad (DeSoto) and wide receiver Evan Stewart (Frisco Liberty) representing Dallas-Fort Worth.

The No. 2-seed Georgia Bulldogs will have quarterback Collin Drake and running back Cash Jones representing Dallas-Fort Worth. Both are walk-on players with the program.

The No.3-seed Boise State Broncos will have running back Ashton Jeanty (Frisco Lone Star), wide receiver Cameron Bates (Mansfield Timberview), tight end Mitch Bothwell (Fort Worth All Saints), wide receiver Cameron Camper (Lancaster), wide receiver Latrell Caples (Lancaster), running back Jambres Dubar (Anna), defensive end Nick Hawthorne (Boswell), cornerback Franklyn Johnson Jr. (Little Elm), defensive tackle Michael Madrie (Argyle), tight end Matt Wagner (Prosper Rock Hill) and safety Zion Washington (Frisco Reedy) representing the area.
