Texas A&M football lands transfer quarterback from American Athletic Conference school
Texas A&M picked up a quarterback, adding Jacob Zeno in the transfer portal to join a crowded quarterback room at College Station.
Zeno, a San Antonio native, played at John Jay High School and was a three-star recruit according to 247 Sports and initially stayed in Texas to play at Baylor from 2019 to 2021 before transferring to UAB for the last three seasons.
Zeno threw for 819 yards with six touchdowns and five interceptions in four games this season before an injury to his non-throwing shoulder ended his year. In his last full season, he threw for 3,126 yards with 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
The Aggies lost two quarterbacks to the transfer portal, Conner Weigman and Jaylen Henderson, before signing Zeno who was ranked as a three-star transfer recruit according to 247 sports.
Texas A&M went 8-4 this season, it’s first under head coach Mike Elko, and will play the USC Trojans in the Las Vegas Bowl at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 27.
