LSU’s Dylan Crews wins national award named after Fort Worth legend.
The expected No. 1 pick in the MLB draft and contender for best player in college baseball was given another award.
Dylan Crews, junior center fielder for LSU, won the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award for the best Division-I player hitter across the country. The award first honored the best player in Texas, but grew to become a national award.
Crews led the preseason No. 1 ranked LSU team to the College World Series while earning SEC Player of the Year and All-American honors along the way. He is also expected to be the first player selected in the 2023 MLB draft. Crews will be honored at a gala in Fort Worth.
“Dylan is also on the SEC Community Service Team as well as being an excellent student,” said BBNCSA director Tracy Taylor. “He has been recognized for his work with families with physical and mental disabilities in Baton Rouge and with Team Of Dreams in the area. Dylan Crews is a great example of what the Bobby Bragan National Collegiate Slugger Award is all about.”
