Tony Romo got his first up-close look at rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott this week. The fourth overall pick made a good first impression on the Cowboys quarterback.

“He looks good,” Romo said in a surprise visit to the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show on 106.1. “You want to see a couple of things just from my perspective. You want to see size. You want to see the ability to react quickly. Obviously, you want to see speed and have some juice and get moving. You want him to be all of these things. Then, you want him to be intelligent. You want him to be able to understand the offense quickly and move him around and do different things. That’s all going to take shape over the next few months.”

Romo made fun of Elliott’s crop top, saying, “He was going to go third in the draft until he wore that.”

Romo earned laughs in his answer to whether he would ever be caught wearing the mid-drift top that Elliott has made famous.

“Maybe 10 years ago, but you know as you get older….” Romo said. “The wife wouldn’t allow it.”
