Skyline 24, Arlington Martin 22: Martin quarterback Eric Walker was under duress all night as Dallas Skyline notched seven sacks and 14 tackles for loss at Forester Stadium. The loss drops Martin to 1-1 on the season, a letdown after beating DeSoto by 20 on national television last week.

Arlington Lamar 38, Keller Central 14: Lamar’s Kofi Boateng had a sore knee last week, which held him out of the Vikings’ win over Richland.The first-team all-state receiver made his season debut Friday night in a big way at Keller ISD Athletics Complex. The Vikings are 2-0 for the first time since 2009.

Aledo 10, Noxubee County 6: The Bearcats’ defense was stellar, shutting out the defending Class 4A Mississippi state champions in the second half and collecting three turnovers in the final 24 minutes, all interceptions, by Michael McKay, Larry Brown and Reid Smith, whose pick stopped a late Nuxobee drive at the 5:37 mark.
