Tom Brady Ranked 9th Best NFL Quarterback of All-Time
Tom Brady is widely considered by most to be the greatest quarterback in the history of the National Football League.
The legendary NFL quarterback, who won a total of seven Super Bowls - six with the Patriots and one with the Buccaneers - seemed to end the G.O.A.T debate with his elite play well into his 40s.
However, a new ranking from former NFL quarterback Chris Simms has placed Brady ninth in an all-time quarterbacks poll. Brady's fans will certainly take issue with the rankings. However, Simms is not making a traditional argument.
Simms did his rankings based on how every quarterback looked at their best in their prime. For Simms, Brady ranks near the bottom of the Top 10.
Simms' top 10 NFL quarterbacks 'in their prime'
- Peyton Manning
- Patrick Mahomes
- Aaron Rodgers
- John Elway
- Brett Favre
- Josh Allen
- Lamar Jackson
- Dan Marino
- Tom Brady
- Roger Staubach
It's an absurd ranking for Brady
You could maybe make the argument that at their peaks, someone like Peyton Manning was as good or better than Brady.
But, in 2007, Brady led the Patriots to an undefeated regular season, while throwing for 4,806 yards and 50 touchdowns, while completing nearly 70 percent of his passes. Few NFL quarterbacks in history, if any, have looked better than Brady did during that season.
It's pretty absurd to suggest that someone like Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson was better than Brady in their primes, no matter what the statistics might show.
