Northern Little League 9-11 all-stars finish as state runners up

The Northern Little League 9-11-year-old all-stars finished as state runners up over the weekend at the Texas West State Tournament.

The Northern 9-11 all-stars lost 10-0 to Waco Midway in the championship, Saturday at Kirby Lake Park in Abilene.

The Northern 9-11 all-stars fought their way to the championship by winning two elimination games, which included an 8-1 victory over Laredo on Thursday and a 5-4 win over San Antonio McAllister Park on Friday.

Northern began the tournament with a 14-3 loss to Waco Midway.

The Northern 8-10 all-stars finished the state tournament with a 1-2 record.

Northern beat Edinburg, 15-1, in an elimination game on Thursday before losing 5-4 to Bulverde in another elimination game on Friday.

The Northern 8-10 all-stars also lost 5-4 to Bulverde in the tournament opener.
