Jaguars Advised to Take Action With Top Trevor Lawrence Target
With the 2026 NFL season sitting just three months away, ESPN decided to take a look at the one move every team in the league should make before the season kicks off.
The Worldwide Leader suggested the Jacksonville Jaguars should take action regarding one of the team’s top wide receiver targets. In the piece, ESPN said the team should lock up former Penn State star wide receiver Parker Washington with a new contract before he potentially hits free agency after the season.
“Washington had a breakout performance in his third season, catching 58 passes for 847 yards and five touchdowns. His 11.1% DVOA ranked 21st among qualifying receivers. However, he becomes a free agent after this season,” ESPN wrote.
“Washington is going to be very important to the Jacksonville offense, especially if Travis Hunter is going to be concentrating more on playing defense this season. The Jaguars might want to get him locked in for the next few seasons before he gets a chance to repeat last year’s big numbers,” it added.
Washington burst onto the scene during the 2025 season following the season-ending injury to Hunter. The former sixth-round pick averaged over 115 yards per game during the final three games of the season in which he added two touchdowns.
In the team’s wild card playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills, he added seven receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown.
