Broncos Urged to Bring Back Former Player Ahead of 2026 Season

The Denver Broncos almost made it to the Super Bowl last season. It was so close, the franchise and their fans could taste it. But, when quarterback Bo Nix went down, it wasn’t a surprise that the team couldn’t go all the way.

Still, they got one game away from the Super Bowl, and the Broncos’ 2025 season proved they have what it takes to go all the way. So, will they go to the Super Bowl in 2027?

If the Broncos clean up a few things before the season starts, it could very well happen. That’s what Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report believes. In a new feature, the NFL analyst discusses what every NFL team needs to do ahead of the 2026 season.

For the Broncos, it’s three things: Bring Von Miller back, figure out where Jahdae Barron fits and incorporate younger tight ends.

The big one he likes here is bringing Miller back to the Broncos, saying that it “isn’t just a feel-good story to end a Hall of Fame career. The 37-year-old pass-rusher can still help the team, particularly with questions surrounding Jonathon Cooper’s availability following a recent arrest, as reported by ESPN, and the impact it could have on Denver’s edge depth.”

Should the Broncos Bring Von Miller Back? My Take

There are positives and negatives to bringing Miller back. Miller brings something that’s hard to teach: experience. He’s played on the biggest stage, won Super Bowls and spent more than a decade in the NFL. He’s also no stranger to the Broncos organization after spending much of his career in Denver.

Make that around 10 years of his career in Denver. Along the way, he suited up for the Rams, Commanders and Bills before hitting free agency this offseason.

The upside is that instant payoff on defense. He could step in and provide a shot of energy and experience right away on defense. He could also help with edge rusher depth, which would benefit Denver. But, the question is really around money. Would Miller be willing to work for less and be on special teams? If so, this could be a solid fit for the Broncos ahead of 2026.
