Texas Tech to face Houston twice in 2026-27 Big 12 schedule
Houston will be one of three teams that the Texas Tech men's basketball team will face twice during the 2026-27 season.
The Big 12 released its opponent matrix on Thursday and it revealed that along with the Cougars, Tech will play Cincinnati and Central Florida twice during the conference's 18-game schedule.
Last season, Tech and Houston each won on their respective home court in their two meetings.
Tech will play the rest of its Big 12 opponents once with six of them at home and the other six on the road.
The home games for the Red Raiders will be against defending Big 12 champion Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Iowa State, Baylor and West Virginia.
Tech will travel to play at Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma and TCU.
The dates, times and television designations are still to be announced.
The Red Raiders finished tied for third in the Big 12 last season after going 12-6 in league play and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Tech finished the year with a 23-11 overall record in Grant McCasland's third season as head coach.
The Red Raiders only return four players off last year's roster, including 6-foot-9 senior forward JT Toppin, who's coming off a torn ACL late in the season, and 7-foot freshman post LaTrell Hoover, who redshirted.
