Bella Flemings earns spot on USA Basketball's Under 18 national team

Bella Flemings, a four-year starting guard at Brennan, was selected to the USA Basketball's Women's Under 18 National Team on Monday.

Flemings, the Express-News Player of the Year and McDonald's All-American signed with Duke, was one of 12 selected to the team after three days of tryouts at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Flemings averaged 18.9 points and 10.2 rebounds in leading the Bears to the UIL state semifinals for the second time in the last four seasons.

The group will compete at the 2026 FIBA Under 18 Women's AmeriCup, scheduled for June 9-15 at Irapuato, Mexico. Team USA is aiming for its 12th straight gold medal and 13th overall since the tournament started in 1988.

The team is coached by Notre Dame's Niele Ivey with Michigan State's Robyn Fralick and Cal's Charmin Smith serving as assistants.
