Hailey Van Lith signs contract with WNBA team after being cut by Connecticut Sun

Hailey Van Lith was cut by the Connecticut Sun but re-signed with the team on a developmental contract on Saturday.

The Former No. 11 pick, out of TCU, in the 2025 WNBA draft was cut after the Sun activated guard Leïla Lacan, who had been on a suspended contract due to overseas commitments.

Van Lith played 29 games for the Chicago Sky before being waived after the team signed Natasha Cloud. Van Lith played nine games, starting three, for the Sun. She averaged 8.1 points, 2.2 assists and 1.1 rebounds per game on 49% shooting, including 47% from three-point range.

Van Lith had a career-high 17 points and season-high four assists in a 101-94 loss to the Las Vegas Aces.

According to ESPN’s Alexa Philippou and Kendra Andrews, Van Lith had other offers but chose to stay with Sun because she felt it was best for her immediate development and for achieving her long-term goals.
