Seahawks to Accomplish Rare Feat Only Done Twice in NFL History
Fresh off their second Super Bowl championship, the Seattle Seahawks has a target on their back.
The team will presumably get every opponent's best shot in 2026 as the competition tries to prove they're on Seattle's level, and the NFL schedule-makers didn't do the Seahawks any favors.
Seattle's 2026 schedule is set up in a way that will allow the team to accomplish something only two other teams in NFL history have ever done, according to John Breech of CBS Sports.
"The Seahawks will have at least one game on every single day of the week this year, except for Tuesday, making them just the third team in 99 years to play on six different days of the week," Breech wrote. "… Only two other teams have played on six different days in a single season. Back in 1927, the New York Yankees - Yes, there was an NFL team called the Yankees - played on every day except for Monday.
"In 2024, the Chiefs played on every day except for Tuesday. The Rams and Packers could also end up playing on six different days if they get flexed to a Saturday game during this season. That could happen in Week 17 or 18 for the Rams. As for the Packers, they’ll have a chance to play on Saturday in Week 18."
The Seahawks will play 10 times on Sunday, twice on Monday, and once on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
The first game Seattle plays on each day of the week is below.
- Sunday: Week 2, Sept. 20 at Arizona Cardinals, 3:25 p.m. ET
- Monday: Week 8, Nov. 2 vs Chicago Bears, 7:15 p.m. ET
- Wednesday: Week 1, Sept. 9, vs. New England Patriots, 7:20 p.m. ET
- Thursday: Week 6, Oct. 15 at Denver Broncos, 7:15 p.m. ET
- Friday: Week 16, Dec. 25 vs. Los Angeles Rams, 7:15 p.m. ET
- Saturday: Week 15, Dec. 19 at Philadelphia Eagles, 4 p.m. ET
