Softball selection Sunday: TV channel, schedule info for NCAA Tournament bracket reveal

May 10-Conference softball tournaments are over and it is time to see who will make the NCAA Tournament.

How teams are seeded in the field of 64, along with regional and super regional hosts, is determined by RPI which is calculated by using a team's winning percentage, opponent's winning percentage and opponent's opponent's winning percentage. The top 16 teams will host a regional, but the top eight will host a super regional; six SEC teams hosted super regionals and nine hosted regionals last year.

Texas softball, the defending its national title, beat Alabama 7-1 in the SEC Tournament finals for the Longhorns' first SEC title. The Longhorns are fourth in RPI. Earlier in the tournament, Texas A&M was eliminated in Wednesday's second round when Auburn upset the Aggies 11-8 and are 17th. Texas State advanced to the Sun Belt Conference finals after a 10-2 run-rule win over Coastal Carolina and the Bobcats are 31st in RPI.

Based on current RPI standings, the projected No. 1 seed is Arkansas.
