President Trump Accused Of Ruining PGA Tour's Cadillac Championship
It appears the Cadillac Championship is gearing up for a special visitor this weekend.
The PGA Tour announced in 2025 that it would return to Trump National Doral's iconic Blue Monster for the first time since 2016. Since this is a signature event on the 2026 schedule, there's a $20 million purse up for grabs.
While we're hoping the action on the course this weekend is fantastic, there could be some commotion due to the updated security measures. The Cadillac Championship announced that fans will be subjected to TSA-style screening over the next two days. That's because a U.S. Secret Service protectee will be in attendance.
"Travel times to access the course and Trump National Doral property could significantly increase, so ticketed attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive to the course earlier than planned. Enhanced security screenings will be conducted prior to entry by the Secret Service Uniformed Division," the press release stated.
"Upon entering Trump National Doral, spectators will be subjected to TSA-style screening at the Main Entry, Downtown Doral Entry, and in select areas on course. Attendees are encouraged to minimize personal items and review the list of prohibited items prior to arrival. Due to the U.S. Secret Service protectee, there may be additional restricted or prohibited items for the weekend."
Fans sound off on the president.
Even though President Donald Trump hasn't confirmed that he's attending the Cadillac Championship this weekend, some fans are convinced he's trying to steal the spotlight from the actual talent on the PGA Tour.
"Trump ruins everything," one fan declared. "He's probably going to show up Sunday to steal the trophy from the winner."
"So glad I'm not watching this clown show where the @PGATOUR kisses this guy's [expletive]," a second fan wrote on social media.
"The president is going to ruin another event? Wasn't the Ryder cup enough?" another fan said.
Suffice to say, golf fans are a bit agitated right now.
Cameron Young currently has a five-stroke lead (-13) over the rest of the field. However, we could see a charge up the leaderboard from Jordan Spieth (-8), Gary Woodland (-7) and Scottie Scheffler (-6).
