Longhorns' season ends in bi-district round

May 2-The United Longhorns' baseball season has officially come to an end.

For the second straight year, the Longhorns were bounced from the playoffs in the bi-district round by the Buda Johnson Jaguars (23-8-2). After losing Game 1, 12-1, at Uni-Trade Stadium on April 30, United dropped Game 2, 10-0, at Johnson Stadium on May 1. The Jaguars advance to the area round, where they'll face the winner of Economedes (17-17) and San Benito (10-15).

For a second straight year, the Longhorns were bounced from the playoffs in the bi-district round by the Buda Johnson Jaguars.

Buda Johnson received stellar outings from starting pitchers Reed Dierschke and Kason Hullum, as United posted just three hits in Game 1 and recorded only one hit in Game 2, which came off the bat of Michael Guerra. Hector Cadena provided the team's lone RBI in the series, driving in Juan Suarez.

The Longhorns end the campaign with a 14-16-1 record and will take a 22-year playoff appearance streak into next season.
