Raiders Urged to Gamble on Controversial WR Stefon Diggs
It's safe to assume the Las Vegas Raiders offense will be markedly better in 2026 than it was in 2025.
The team signed quarterback Kirk Cousins, wide receiver Jalen Nailor, and center Tyler Linderbaum in free agency, and it added quarterback Fernando Mendoza, running back Mike Washington Jr., center Trey Zuhn III, and wide receiver Malik Benson through the draft.
But the one glaring issue the team still hasn't addressed is finding a true No. 1 receiver.
And that might be something that doesn't get addressed until next offseason, but if Vegas wants to at least upgrade that position, Zachary Pereles of CBS Sports thinks they should take a chance on former New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs.
"Diggs showed last year he can still really play, even if his snap share was way down," Pereles wrote. "A talented separator who snatches the ball with hands like glue, Diggs would really help a Raiders wide receiver group bereft of his skill set and bereft of experience. The youngsters could play a lot, but Diggs could still see plenty of work on crucial downs."
Diggs isn't close to being the All-Pro wideout he once was, but he proved last season that he's still got 1,000-yard potential (he totaled 85 receptions, 1,013 yards and four touchdowns with the Patriots).
Adding Diggs would be an instant upgrade to a lackluster WR room that features Tre Tucker (57 catches, 696 yards, five touchdowns), Jack Bech (20 catches, 224 yards), and Nailor (29 receptions, 444 yards, four touchdowns) plus a host of players who haven't stuck anywhere else like Philip Dorsett, Brendan Rice, Justin Shorter, and Dareke Young.
