Trinity's Escamilla wins the TAPPS 1-4A medalist title

Trinity junior Alex Escamilla claimed medalist honors during the TAPPS 1-4A Boys Golf Tournament, Tuesday at The Resort Golf Club in Fort Worth.

Escamilla shot a 74 to finish one stroke ahead of Fort Worth Lake Country Christian's second-place finisher Sam Foley (75).

It was the third consecutive district medalist title for Escamilla, a Wyoming commit.

Escamilla's Chargers qualified for the regional tournament by placing third (339) behind tournament champion Lake Country Christian (314) and Colleyville Covenant (337).

The top four teams and top 10 individual golfers advance to the TAPPS 4A Regional Tournament on April 28 at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson.

Trinity junior Jayden Hofman finished in a tie for eighth (84) and Trinity junior Jordan Kaczor tied for 11th (85).

Trinity senior Mary Brown qualified for regionals as an individual in the girls tournament by finishing sixth (105) in the medalist standings.

Trinity sophomore Jaylee Cox shot a 110 to finish 11th and just miss out on a girls regional berth.

Midland Classical finished seventh (421) in the boys team standings.

Jack Zmigrosky shot a 96 and Patrick McHale carded a 107 for the Trinity boys, while Carter Jackson shot a 109, Samuel Moreland carded a 112, and Russell Mays shot a 114 for MCA.
