Steele's Mia Perez named E-N softball Player of the Week

Mia Perez, Steele: senior, pitcher - Perez went 5 for 6 with two doubles, one home run and seven RBIs in the Knights' victories against Austin Bowie (11-1) and San Marcos (18-2). She also pitched in both games and allowed one earned run and struck out seven in eight innings.

Game Balls

* O'Connor's Araceli Alonzo went 5 for 7 with two home runs, two doubles and two steals with eight RBIs in wins against Harlan (8-3) and Sotomayor (16-0).

* Warren's Jenna Bonilla hit .511 with two doubles, one home run and four RBIs in victories against Marshall (12-2) and Holmes (11-1). She was credited with two pitching victories with six strikeouts in six innings.

* Smithson Valley's Ava DeBoy tossed a five-inning no-hit victory against Alamo Heights (12-0). She had seven strikeouts.

* Southwest's Genaya Santos went 4 for 5 with two inside-the-park home runs and a triple in the Dragons' 11-0 win against Jay.

* Davenport's Ashlyn Kennedy went 4 for 6 with one home run, one triple, four steals and seven RBIs with wins against Bandera (21-2) and Canyon Lake (11-1).
