Everything to know before Texas Wesleyan’s home playoff debut

Fresh off a historic regular season that saw them make the postseason for the first time since restarting the program in 2017, Texas Wesleyan University (10-0) will prepare to host a second-round playoff game.

The No. 8 seeded Rams will host the No. 9 Benedictine College (9-2) at 2 p.m. at Crowley ISD Multi-Purpose Stadium.

Fans can buy tickets at TWU’s website starting at $25.

Here’s what fans need to know before the game.

Benedictine plays in the Heart of America conference and shared the 2024 Heart South Division Football Conference Championship with Baker and MidAmerica Nazarene who all had in-conference records of 5-1.

The Ravens are led by Heart South Player of the Year Jacob Gathright who caught 44 passes for 1,044 yards and 10 touchdowns.

TWU is spearheaded by its historic offense which averaged 59.3 points per season in part thanks to the NAIA’s all-time single-season rushing touchdown leader Ernest Ceasar, as well as stand-out pass catchers AJ Bobb and Michael Banks, led by quarterback Carson Rodgers.
