Here’s which sports events are canceled, postponed or suspended because of coronavirus

The COVID-19 outbreak has rapidly altered the sports world with almost every conceivable major event being canceled, suspended or postponed.

That includes cancellation of most men’s and women’s college basketball conference tournaments and the cancellation or suspension of most of the other athletic competitions for at least the next couple of weeks.

In fact, a Big East men’s tournament quarterfinal game between Creighton and St. John’s was canceled at halftime after the conference decided to shut down the tournament.

The following sporting events have been canceled:

NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments

NCAA’s College World Series

NCAA’s gymnastics championships (at Dickies Arena April 17-18)

Big 12 Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments (at Sprint Center, Kansas City, Mo.)

Big 12 Conference gymnastics championships

Big 12 Conference equestrian championships

Southeastern Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments

Atlantic Coast Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments

Atlantic 10 men’s and women’s basketball tournaments

American Athletic Conference men’s basketball tournament (at Dickies Arena)

Sun Belt Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournament (Smoothie King Center in New Orleans)

TCU football’s March 28 spring game

Big East Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

Conference USA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments and all athletic competition through April 15.

Big Ten Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

Big West Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

Pac-12 Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

Southland Conference men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.

Mexican National Team’s matches against Czech Republic on March 26 in Charlotte, N.C., and against Greece on March 29 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington have been canceled.

The XFL has canceled the rest of its season with five regular-season games remaining.

The NAIA has canceled all of its winter championships.

The remainder of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo was canceled.

The following sporting events have been postponed, suspended:

NBA season has been suspended indefinitely effective Wednesday night.

MLB has suspended spring training indefinitely and is delaying the start if the regular season by two weeks.

NHL games have been suspended indefinitely beginning Thursday night.

The University of Texas has postponed all events at the Frank Erwin Center for the immediate future.

MLS has suspended its season indefinitely.

All Big 12 athletic competition has been suspended indefinitely.

TCU’s dedication of the Legends Club & Suites at Amon G. Carter Stadium on March 28 will be rescheduled.

Texas Tech’s baseball series this weekend against West Virginia in Lubbock has been postponed.

UIL boys basketball tournament suspended until further notice.

Sports events altered, including only essential personnel, family members and credential media allowed to attend:

NASCAR plans to continue with its Homestead-Miami Race on March 22 without fans.

TCU baseball games through March 29

TCU men’s and women’s tennis through April 1

TCU beach volleyball on April 3

TCU Track and Field Invitational on March 21

All Baylor sports events are limited to essential personnel only and limited family through April 5.
