Trump policies are helping Texas economy recover, while Biden would crush energy jobs
Under President Donald Trump’s leadership, we have an economy that is working for the people of Texas and for the nation.
This president has cut seven regulations for every new one introduced, allowing American businesses to operate and thrive without burdensome red tape. The results are already paying off.
In May and June, we saw a combined 7.5 million jobs added to the economy. This is only because the president got the government out of the way and allowed our economy to flourish.
In Texas alone, Trump’s tax cuts, deregulation, and pro-growth policies led to unprecedented growth in the economy. The state saw unemployment fall to just 3.5 percent in February of this year before the coronavirus pandemic interrupted the economy’s growth. Since May, 475,300 jobs have been added back to the state’s economy.
And we can’t forget the Paycheck Protection Program. It alone is responsible for protecting 4.5 million jobs in Texas.
Meanwhile, Democrat Joe Biden recently introduced a disastrous $2 trillion energy plan that would work toward abolishing fossil fuels — a move that would eliminate more than 10 million jobs in the U.S.
This radical proposal should come as no surprise. Biden has adopted a “Unity Platform” with self-proclaimed socialist Bernie Sanders, and he supports the Green New Deal introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Biden’s energy plan is ripped straight from the Green New Deal. It would devastate the Texas economy as it rebounds from the pandemic. The oil, gas and coal industries that Biden wants to abolish support more than 2 million jobs in the state and contribute more than $330 billion to the Texas economy annually.
And the fracking ban that Biden has previously suggested he would back would eliminate more than 3 million jobs in Texas. This is completely unacceptable. But it gets worse.
Joe Biden wants to replace all 500,000 school buses and 3 million government vehicles with “zero-emission” counterparts within five years. This is a move that will cost every state an insurmountable amount of funding. It’s unreasonable to expect America’s school districts to pull this off, especially considering that many already struggle to make ends meet.
BIden also wants to build 500,000 charging stations for electric cars across America – at taxpayer expense. His destructive policies would sink the economy and send us into another recession – if not a full-blown depression.
The November elections will determine the future of Texas and the rest of our great nation. Trump has been given the extraordinary task of rebuilding the economy not once but twice. Before the coronavirus hit our shores, he led the economy to historic heights, and he is already leading us through a historic recovery from the effects of the pandemic.
In comparison, Joe Biden helped lead us through the slowest economic recovery since World War II, and now, he’s offering policies that would tamp down the current recovery.
It’s more imperative than ever for us to re-elect Donald Trump in November. America’s economic future depends on it.
