Richard Greene’s moral authority; abortion is selfish; lone terrorists; one nation
Moral authority
In criticizing Hillary Clinton’s emails (“Does Hillary Clinton have an inner voice of right and wrong?” June 5) columnist Richard Greene wrote, “Listen to your inner voice to know right from wrong.”
Was that his inner voice that defended the disgraceful and illegal torturing of POWs to death?
Or was that his inner voice that supported the invasion of Iraq, people who never attacked us?
Or his inner voice that denied climate change while working for the EPA?
His moral authority to criticize Clinton or anyone is lost to me.

Abortion selfish
I’m troubled by the July 10 article, “Abortion ruling is a win for Tarrant County women,” by Planned Parenthood of Tarrant County.
Everyone knows that this organization is a deadly one for babies.
It’s a selfish attitude that killing babies is a “win” for women.
Through the years, women would earnestly guard the welfare of their babies.
The mother’s womb was a safe place for the child to grow to maturity.
Today, the womb is a dangerous, fatal place if Planned Parenthood has anything to do with it!
The three writers of the article lament that the number of centers where women can have a “safe, legal abortion has dropped from about 40 to fewer than 20.”
But what about the poor, defenseless, helpless child who is put to death by the abortionist in an abortion center?
Isn’t it a selfish position to promote the assumed “right” to kill one’s baby so the mother can be relieved of parental responsibilities?
Most abortions are performed on mothers who have been willing to commit fornication or adultery, then are reaping the consequences of their immoral sex.
Let’s begin to think logically, morally and truthfully about a very wicked procedure (whether it’s legal or not)!

Lone terrorists
One would wonder about the family and/or friends of these lone-wolf terrorists.
They threaten on the internet, and they must arouse some element of suspicion as they rant amongst family and friends.
If families would report such demeanor to the authorities, then questioning might reveal their true intent.
One might say that the First Amendment gives them the right to espouse their terroristic threats without repercussion. Not necessarily so!
The threat to kill may not be a crime in and of itself, however the interrogation of these demented terrorists would give the authorities the opportunity to bring them in for evaluation of their real intent.
Society might be spared these horrific, sickening killings of police officers and others.

One nation
In our world of social media sloganeering, we urgently need to become more measured in our reactions.
A “Black Lives Matter” sign appears and the knee-jerk reaction of many is to see this as anti-police.
A “Back the Blue” sign appears, and the knee-jerk reaction of many is to see this as meant to de-legitimize the other slogan.
The truth is that our police departments need and deserve the wholehearted support of our communities.
And the truth also is that there have been too many occasions in which some police have not shown that they value black lives.
Oh, that it were possible for our American society to actually put into practice the pledge that we so glibly repeat on important public occasions — to actually become the republic for which our flag purportedly stands, “one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all.”
