Clinton emails

Should Hillary Clinton have been indicted for undeniably proven crimes?

Of course.

Would she have been convicted?

Probably not due to jury nullification.

But, the decision is supposed to be made by a jury of peers, not dictated by the top “legal” officer in the country.

This entire matter does not begin to pass the smell test.

And perhaps the most damaging is that Attorney General Loretta Lynch has established a precedent that incompetence is a defense for malfeasance in office, at least for cabinet-level appointees.

What a legacy!

Joseph Ansley, Fort Worth

I continue to be amazed by people’s blindness to Hillary Clinton’s character defects.

Perhaps the reopening of the email investigation by the State Department inspector general will keep this “in the news.”

She has seriously compromised our intelligence-gathering capability and possibly exposed some of our covert agents.

I would be in Fort Leavenworth military prison if I had handled classified information during my military career the way she did.

Observing the congressional hearings with Attorney General Loretta Lynch regarding the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s illegal use of classified government material, one can only conclude, after extensive questioning by members of the committee, that she would be a great candidate for the TV program Dancing With the Stars, as she obviously danced around many of the questions.

So let me get this straight.

Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch meet privately with no memo-takers.

If all they talked about was golf and grandchildren, why was the meeting private?

So I guess it’s true — one set of rules for the Clintons and another set of rules for the common people.

God help us if she gets elected.

Haltom mayor

I was very disappointed that there was no coverage on the death of Johnnie B. Lee, mayor of Haltom City from 1971 to 1984.

This man accomplished many things during his 14 1/2 years.

He was proudest of the completion of the Haltom City Senior Citizen Center.

He also started the food giveaway of cheese, butter, etc., and delivered it to citizens who could not get there.

He was the founding president of the Association of Small Cities, served on the Commissioners Court and 10 years as Democratic precinct chairman.

He served on the board of directors of North Central Texas Council of Governments in 1977.

There are still people who think highly of this man.

Lillian Furrie,

Haltom City
