Forest Hill image
We are a small city — under 15,000 population. Many residents have worked hard for the past five years to improve our image in the public mind.
In the May 7 election for three Forest Hill City Council places, we have candidates who oppose the current city government and condone unethical behavior on the part of their friends.
Their opponents’ signs have gone missing — not by mowers cleaning up the public right of way, but removed by individuals in pickups.
There have been unfounded accusations and innuendo, campaign literature placed in mail boxes, claims of unfair practices.
If these candidates truly want to serve their city, they will campaign in a positive way by telling the voters what they will try to do for the city, rather than creating division and giving the city a black eye.

Weatherford board
I support Ashley Duncan Conlon for Place 3 on the Weatherford school board.
Ashley, a Weatherford graduate, has served as board secretary, vice president and president.
She is an accomplished business leader in the community and an ethical, hard-working individual who is committed to the students and community.
As a board member for seven years, I know the challenges facing the district.
And I know what the district needs to ensure an effective board.
An experienced board member will be crucial.

Hurst mayoral race
After living in Hurst for 44 years, we want to keep Hurst headed in the same positive direction.
Mayor Richard Ward served as a City Council member before becoming mayor.
We support Mayor Ward for re-election.
We also support Trasa Robertson Cobern for City Council because she serves and has served on Hurst committees and boards.
Both candidates are well-qualified, and we recommend them.
