Keller, Colleyville politics; stinky presidential campaigns
Local politics
Keller politics has a bad reputation.
When a zoning board votes six in favor on an issue and it goes to the City Council and is denied, that creates a concern.
Part of the problem stems from lack of a city-updated comprehensive master plan. There hasn’t been a substantial update since 1998. For lack of a comprehensive plan for direction of the city, disputes over zoning continually raise their ugly heads.
They evolve into the Hatfield-and-McCoy syndrome, families involved in a long and bitter feud. Look at Keller politics. Any resemblance?
We could ease this tension and better plan for the future of Keller if a complete, updated comprehensive master plan were in place.
Perhaps if we had a good plan in effect, we wouldn’t have so many fast-food restaurants.
Frank Roszell, Keller
As a resident of Colleyville and a practicing attorney, I find it reprehensible that a candidate who ran for City Council last May could file a lawsuit against his opponent and other residents.
Bobby Lindamood filed a frivolous lawsuit against Mike Taylor, who was running for re-election, hoping to silence Taylor and his supporters. The judge found the defendants did no wrong and dismissed the case.
The members of our City Council are volunteers, and they spend endless hours away from their families to make Colleyville a better place. We must protect all council members from baseless lawsuits.
Voting is the precious right of every Colleyville resident. We all have a moral obligation to ensure the integrity of our voting process without fear of an opponent’s lawsuit.

Stinky campaigns
After following the political news and watching a few disgusting debates, I’ve decided to create an air freshener for voters to take to the voting booths in November! It’s a small aerosol to be called “Whew,” signaling that it’s over! The alternative is to hold your nose tightly.
This is boiling up to be the stinkiest race I’ve witnessed in more than 40 years of voting.
