Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood gives women control over their own bodies.
Birth control allows women to decide when, or if, to get pregnant. Birth control gives women the possibility of enjoying sex, as they see fit.
Those who oppose Planned Parenthood focus on the fetus. But their actions show that they are not interested in living children, or women or families.
They don’t support pre-natal, perinatal or post-natal care. They don’t support public education or public health. They don’t support job training.
They don’t care if parents have to work two or three jobs, and thus won’t be around to nurture their children.
Why would a society want to force women to bear children they don’t want, or can’t raise properly, without stepping in to help?
Because this is not about children, not at all.
The attack on Planned Parenthood is another manifestation of the patriarchy’s inability to recognize that all human beings — especially women — have the sovereign right to their bodies. Period.
— Barbara Chiarello, Arlington
Planned Parenthood does very little else than provide abortions.
Women’s healthcare needs are available through Federally Qualified Health Centers.
FQHCs are funded through federal grant money to provide health services in “an underserved area or population.”
There are 50 such medical facilities within 100 miles of Fort Worth, both in and around Fort Worth and Dallas.
No one needs Planned Parenthood for healthcare and no one should have to provide money to support the organization.
— Richard Myers, Fort Worth
