Where is my letter going to be published?

Why do I have to give my full name, city and contact info?

There is plenty of anonymous commentary on social media. We aim to be a platform for diverse, honest and constructive conversations. We use your contact information only to verify that your letter did indeed come from you.

Can I share my views about anything?

To a degree, yes. Readers often share their opinions about the news of the day, politics, government and public policies that affect their lives. But you can also share praise, raise an issue that’s important to your community or react to a story you read in the Star-Telegram. We don’t allow personal attacks, and we strive to make sure letters to the editor contain factually incorrect information.

Any other rules?

We limit submissions from an individual to once per 30 days. All submissions become the property of the Star-Telegram.
