Democrats, you wasted everybody’s time on impeachment
Democrats had a losing hand
Why would the Democrats bring unwinnable impeachment allegations against the president? They knew going in they could not succeed but did it anyway.
If they had actually believed they would be successful in their impeachment effort, then they wouldn’t have spent millions on negative TV ads in prime time attacking President Donald Trump during this lengthy process.
What do you call a group of politicians who would do such a thing? How about unfit to govern?

Granger’s claims don’t hold up now
When I was a City Council member, I heard a briefing that the threat to flood-prone areas of Fort Worth could be alleviated by raising levees two to four feet in some places at a cost of $9.6 million. Alternatively, the Central City Project (also known as Panther Island) would return a $1 billion tax base on a $360 million economic-development investment. The council chose economic development.
When I ran for the Tarrant Regional Water District in 2006, I claimed that the project would cost between $1 billion and $1.5 billion. Rep. Kay Granger said I was lying. She is not a conservative.

Donald Trump is a big giver
Should we expect to read anything positive from the author of an opinion piece on our president when she writes: “Donald Trump unfortunately still is our president”? (Feb. 12, 15A, “Why must we line Trump’s pockets at his resorts?”)
Pam Sohn had plenty to say about what the president is costing taxpayers for security, but she failed to mention that 18 members of his family require Secret Service protection, that he often hosts state dinners at his resorts, that he donates all his presidential salary to charity and that his White House staff is smaller than President Barack Obama’s.
Your paper had to search as far as the Chattanooga Times Free Press to find this hit piece.

Democrats showed their worst side
Thank you, Marc A. Thiessen, for a well-written column about the problems with the Iowa caucuses. (Feb. 9, 5B, “If you liked the Iowa caucuses, you’ll love Medicare-for-all”) I had no idea how badly the Democrats could mess up a simple process. Are these the people you want running our country? Not me.

Olson should continue to serve
Kim Olson was an Air Force pilot, serving for 28 years and retiring as a colonel. Having flown missions in Iraq and Afghanistan, she hopes that her son, currently serving in the Air Force, never has to fight in the war she fought in years ago. She’s the best choice to be our voice in the 24th Congressional District.
