Our senators are afraid of Donald Trump? What a laugh

Democrats messed it up again

The Democrats can’t run a simple contest in a small state, yet they think they are qualified to run the country? Did they test their system? The Iowa caucuses fiasco was just like what would happen if any of their crazy policy ideas were to be implemented.

Voters should remember the crystal-clear picture that Democrats gave us of their abilities.

Better get Pelosi out of there

Nancy Pelosi’s actions at the end of the State of the Union address were those of a spoiled, unruly teen, not the speaker of the House. I cringe to think she is second in line to the presidency. She needs to be removed from office.

Time to get over it, Democrats

It was so unprofessional of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to behave like an unhappy child and tear up President Donald Trump’s speech. Such undignified behavior shows her lack of decorum and civility. Get over it: Trump was exonerated and will be re-elected in November. I’ll send you a case of tissues.

Romney stood for what we all know

I’m not a Republican and never voted for Mitt Romney. But on Wednesday, he became my hero. He followed his pledge before God to honor and obey the Constitution. He refused to follow the crowd to acquit President Donald Trump; he knew Trump was guilty.

Romney is paying the price, with all the ugly responses and Trump leading the crowd. But Romney’s faith will not desert him. He owes no apologies to anyone.

No profiles in courage from Texas

Sen. Mitt Romney showed our nation moral courage. It is so much easier to go along to get along. Romney saw that President Donald Trump is guilty of abusing his power. He will now face political retribution from moral cowards like our senator, John Cornyn, who never leads but always takes the easy path to get along with his peers.

Laughable that senators are scared

In the State of the Union address, President Donald Trump was, well, presidential. He was also eloquent, upbeat and patriotic. He reached out to everyone. It was moving, producing tears at times. Then, I read the column by Dana Milbank, who obviously prefers anyone to Trump, even Sen. Bernie Sanders. (Feb. 5, 15A, “Watching Bernie in the Senate: Could this really be happening?”)

I actually laughed when he wrote that “every frightened senator from the president’s party prepares to stand with a man who abused his office.”

Moral decay at Super Bowl

Regarding the Super Bowl halftime show, is it any wonder that sexual assault, #metoo, adultery, infidelity, divorce, pornography and promiscuity are rampant? I have a book that says, “You will always reap what you sow. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful desires will harvest the consequences of decay and death.”

Suffering, not relief, for Tinslee

It’s now been a year, and little Tinslee Lewis is still on life support and in pain. I keep wondering what would end her suffering.

It certainly will not be a decision by her mother, who allows her baby to stay in constant pain and shows her no mercy.
