Readers let loose on the FBI, Trump and fear of euthanasia

Political bias in FBI Clinton email probe

I watched two days of hearings on C-SPAN about the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

There were stunning revelations of political bias in the upper echelons of both the FBI and the Department of Justice, even leading to the Obama White House.

The next morning, I did not read one word about these findings.

No matter our political leanings, as Americans we all should be shaken and incensed by these findings.

The FBI is damaged by these findings and its reputation is tarnished. I wish I could have read about it.

Samantha Bee should have been fired

Vile or vulgar statements about Caucasians, Christians and Jews are ignored.

Samantha Bee's remark (about Ivanka Trump) should have gotten her fired. Had she made a remark about a minority she would have been fired immediately. (Ask Roseanne Barr.)

Bee's producers agreed with this type of language, or it would have been edited out.

Where is the outrage?

Are Caucasians, Christians, and Jews America's punching bag? Are we second-class citizens?

A derogatory remark about Muslims would be on every news channel.

Drug ads promote addiction

With the growing opioid epidemic, why do we continue to allow advertising of prescription and over-the-counter medications on television?

Not only does it promote drugs with addictive problems, in my opinion, it makes some people have illnesses they had never even heard of before seeing it mentioned on television!

The United States is the only country, besides New Zealand, that legally permits "direct-to-consumer" pharmaceutical advertising.

Deaths from drug overdoses have jumped across the United States.

A senior scared of legalizing euthanasia

Euthanasia is in the news with Canada and some European countries now allowing it.

Euthanasia seems like a “perfect solution” to getting rid of those pesky older people who are using up Social Security (even though it’s their own money).

Several people in Europe have been euthanized without their knowledge or consent, (One unsuccessfully tried to fight off the “doctor” giving her a lethal injection).

Politicians may be tempted to promote euthanasia as a solution for all these problems.

As a senior citizen, I'm scared to heck at the possibility of euthanasia.

Trump is making our country mean

Regarding Ms. Sanders being asked to leave the restaurant, what can the far right expect?

The Supreme Court is very far right and will be cemented with Justice Kennedy's retirement.

The owner of The Red Hen was putting her principles where her mouth is — not just talking about how wrong it was to discriminate against people of LGBT. Our country has become so mean since President Trump started his campaign and worse since he took office.

God help us survive this administration.
