Reckless Clinton

With 22 years of Air Force service, I can unequivocally state that by committing “extreme recklessness” in the handling of top secret material at any time, my career would have ended. Lying about it wouldn’t have helped.

Donald Trump, while not a perfect candidate, still has not committed anywhere near such an egregious act as Hillary Clinton with her private email server.

Include her inability to name a single notable accomplishment as secretary of state and face it, she’s not presidential material.

After seven years of national decline due to the advice of academics and bureaucrats, isn’t it time to turn to people who have actually created institutions and jobs?

Fifty states can provide health and education, but only the U.S. government can control the import of terrorism and provide strong national security.

Embassy attacks

There has been such a narrow-minded bias shown by the Clinton- and Obama-haters in recent letters about Benghazi.

Since the 1920s, there have been dozens of attacks on US embassies and consulates, with over 200 deaths, many of which were American.

In 1983 during Republican Ronald Reagan’s term, Beirut was bombed and 16 Americans were killed.

During George W. Bush’s presidency, there were 12 attacks on American compounds with 50 deaths, two of which were American.

Did the Obama administration run with the misinformation regarding the cause of the Benghazi attack? Yes. Did they admit the mistake? Yes.

Did the Bush administration run with the misinformation regarding WMDs in Iraq? Yes. Did they admit a mistake was made? Not even yet.

The first case did not change the outcome of an attack. The second case caused a disastrous attack.

I hope we can keep the small-minded conspiracy theorists out of Washington in 2016.

Arlington cats

As a caregiver of the Arlington feral cat colony, I found Dick Collier’s Sept. 17 cartoon offensive and insensitive to those who have taken their passion to provide for the well being of living creatures and now dealing with the heartache.
