For any Arlington kid who dreams of being on Shark Tank, the school district and the local chapter of The Class in The Parks DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) can help fulfill those dreams with their 10th annual Young Entrepreneurs Boot Camp.

The event is on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the AISD Professional Development Center and open to students in third through sixth grades.

The free event will help youngsters grasp the meaning of true entrepreneurship, learning about target customers, money matters and promoting. There’s also a contest in which students can present their ideas by Feb. 19.

Winners will be from every school that submits, and the grand prize winners will receive tickets to Texas Rangers games and Six Flags, along with a trophy, medal, T-shirt and a chance for a scholarship.

This kind of event not only can create some great ideas but also can fuel the imagination and ambition of Arlington’s future leaders.
