Polish that golf swing, then go grab a taco
The news of Topgolf’s planned 65,000-square-foot driving range-event center downtown is not only big news to Fort Worth golfers.
It’s also great news for property owners along the Airport Freeway in the Riverside neighborhood, where the facility will bring development to an area between Interstate 35W and the Trinity River.
Topgolf is expected to hire 450 full- and part-time employees and create an average $26 million per year in local economic development. Luring the facility marks a major success for Fort Worth.
It’s also the second major announcement lately for the Airport Freeway-Interstate 35W corridor, where a new $10 million Fuel City 24-hour truck stop-taqueria is also expected. The exact site has not been announced.
Fort Worth’s gateway along the Airport Freeway has mostly developed as a drab warehouse district around remaining residential neighborhoods. Both developments will bring other new businesses and new jobs to the area, along with new energy for future growth.
