Partners join for eldercare
If you’re getting older, there’s good news from Fort Worth’s medical school.
Yes, that means everyone. And everyone in Tarrant County may someday benefit from a new geriatrics medicine partnership among the University of North Texas Health Science Center, the JPS Health Network and two community partners.
With an $850,000 first-year federal grant, UNTHSC will launch a comprehensive effort to improve the health of older adults and train healthcare professionals to better serve the elderly.
Texas Christian University’s healthcare schools and the United Way of Tarrant County’s Area Agency on Aging will join in the project, named “WE-HAIL” — Workforce Enhancement Healthy Aging and Independent Living.
UNTHSC has already made its mark here in eldercare, and it’s encouraging to see other partners back that proven success.
