There appears to be high interest in the upcoming elections, fueled in part by controversial referendums in Arlington and Colleyville along with some hotly contested races for positions on city councils, school boards and the Tarrant Regional Water District.
The hot non-candidate election in Colleyville centers on a proposition that would limit the scope of work on Glade Road. In Arlington, voters will decide whether to ban red-light cameras in that city.
Although official Election Day is Saturday, the last day to vote early is Tuesday, when polls will be open in 45 Tarrant County locations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Local elections are the ones closest to the people, those that can have the most impact on individuals and their communities.
