Arlington ISD revving up with partnership

The Arlington school district is keeping its promise to have students achieving today to excel tomorrow.

The district added another powerful partnership to its portfolio, solidifying its strategic “Achieve today. Excel tomorrow” plan. The 2016-2021 academic plan boosts a mission “to empower and engage all students to be contributing, responsible citizens, reaching their maximum potential.”

Arlington ISD and Moritz Dealerships partnered to create a new automotive technology program.

The two-year program will educate students in Occupational Safety and Health Administration-quality automotive repair at the Career and Technical Center. The CTC will open next fall.

“We are pleased to partner with Moritz Dealerships for this unique program at our new Career and Technical Center,” says AISD Superintendent Marcelo Cavazos in a news release. “This program will prepare 100 students each year to enter the workforce as an entry-level service technician through certification and dual-credit courses.”

This partnership joins others geared to help Arlington students succeed in high school and beyond.

AISD partners with UNT Health Science Center, Music & Arts and Lockheed Martin, among others, in mentoring, dual-credit and internship programs.

This is just another way Arlington ISD creatively and efficiently prepares its students for their career paths.
