DreamVision has both, but does it have money?

So far, DreamVision has delivered plenty of both but little else.

Two years ago, the Florida-based film company threw a six-hour concert and fireworks show to announce a move here and a new $20 million, family-friendly movie studio.

That quickly fizzled.

Backed by the Christ Chapel Bible Church symphony, DreamVision officials had vowed to make Fort Worth the “family entertainment capital.”

Off-stage, an executive talked about a theme park west of town, and there was other talk of a guarded inquiry about water for a secret development in far southwest Tarrant County.

But it all seemed more prayer than plan.

DreamVision is back, with even more bombast.

According to the company website, a new DreamVision Mountain park to be announced here Monday will be the “crowning glory,” a 5,000-acre, $4 billion resort that will “dwarf anything in the world.”

Former Disney executive and Beauty & The Beast creator Ron Logan has always been on board, and his name helps lure would-be investors.

DreamVision executive Rick Silanskas has said he senses a “gathering” here of like-minded Christians.

The company promises a Monday announcement at Ashton Depot, with a second announcement Wednesday for a 1,400-acre park in Muscle Shoals, Ala.

But you’d think if something big were coming to Texas and Alabama, officials would know about it.

“Yes, you’d think,” said Steve Holt of the Shoals Chamber of Commerce.

He learned of the proposed $3.5 billion park there, not from executives or state officials, but from a press release emailed to newspapers from a plain, personal Gmail account.

But Holt said it’s so big, “maybe we wouldn’t hear about it the normal way.”

Nothing about DreamVision has been normal.
