Severe storms, wildfire threats are expected for North Texas throughout the week

Parts of North Texas are expected to see severe storms Monday through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Isolated severe storms may be possible starting Monday afternoon, with coverage and chances increasing Tuesday and Wednesday.

Hail, damaging winds and a few tornadoes will be possible, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The timing of possible storms on Monday and Tuesday is expected to be in the afternoon and evening.

There’s also an elevated threat for wildfires in counties west of U.S. 281 starting Sunday afternoon through Friday. On Wednesday, the threat increases and affects counties west of Interstate 35.

After high temperatures around 90 on Monday and Tuesday and in the 80s Wednesday, Thursday is expected to be sunny, with a high near 79 degrees and a low around 56.

Thunderstorm chances will return to the region Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
