Small hail, heavy rain possible during storms on Sunday and Memorial Day in Fort Worth

Fort Worth will likely have a stormy Sunday and Memorial Day.

On Sunday, sporadic thunderstorms were likely through the afternoon, National Weather Service meteorologist Jason Godwin said. Some of those storms could become severe, with 50 to 60 mph wind and small hail. The main threats, however, are heavy lightning and rain.

The weather should settle down Sunday evening, but another round of storms may hit Dallas-Fort Worth from midnight to daybreak.

On Monday, the random storms will continue. There may be some breaks in the weather, but Memorial Day will mostly be cloudy and rainy, Godwin said.

The rest of the week is also expected to be rainy and stormy.
