The NWS Fort Worth TX issued a heat advisory at 12:57 a.m. on Wednesday valid for Thursday between noon and 9 p.m. The advisory is for Wise, Denton, Collin, Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Hood, Johnson, Montague, Cooke, Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Young, Jack, Hunt, Delta, Hopkins, Stephens, Palo Pinto, Rockwall, Kaufman, Van Zandt, Rains, Eastland, Erath, Somervell, Ellis, Henderson, Comanche, Mills, Hamilton, Bosque, Hill, Navarro, Freestone, Anderson, Lampasas, Coryell, Bell, McLennan, Falls, Limestone, Leon, Milam and Robertson counties.
"Heat index values up to 110 degrees expected," states the NWS. "Those involved in outdoor activities should take extra precautions to protect themselves and others from heatstroke and heat exhaustion."
"Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses," says the NWS.
This advisory is in effect until Thursday at 9 p.m.
