Heat advisory in place for North Texas for Saturday

On Friday at 1:25 p.m. the NWS Fort Worth TX issued a heat advisory valid for Saturday between noon and 9 p.m. The advisory is for Wise, Denton, Collin, Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Hood, Johnson, Hunt, Rockwall, Kaufman, Somervell, Ellis and Navarro counties.

"Heat index values of 100 to 105 degrees expected on Saturday," explains the NWS. "Those who will be participating in activities outside with large crowds should take extra precautions to protect themselves and others from heatstroke and heat exhaustion."

"Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses," explains the NWS.

This advisory is in effect until Saturday at 9 p.m.
