Windy storms, hail threats in the mix for parts of North Texas this weekend. When rain arrives

Storm chances return to the North Texas forecast this weekend.

A cold front will move into the area on Sunday, March 23, bringing low storm chances to areas near and east of Interstate 35, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. There’s a chance that a few storms may be strong to severe over Sunday afternoon and evening, and some may bring large hail and damaging winds to the area.

For areas west of I-35, conditions will be dry and breezy. This will lead to an elevated fire threat on Sunday afternoon, according to the NWS.

Daily temperatures over the weekend will be in the upper 70s to low 80s.

Warm and dry start to next week

After a stormy Sunday, conditions will be breezy and warm for much of North Texas next week.

Daily highs on Monday, March 24, will be in the upper 70s, warming up to the upper 80s on Tuesday, March 25. Here’s a look at the next seven days of temperatures in the Metroplex:

  • Friday, March 21- 77 degrees
  • Saturday, March 22- 83 degrees
  • Sunday, March 23- 83 degrees
  • Monday, March 24- 78 degrees
  • Tuesday, March 25- 87 degrees
  • Wednesday, March 26- 83 degrees
  • Thursday, March 27- 82 degrees
