Enjoying the nice weather in Fort Worth? Showers and thunderstorms are on the horizon
After several days of sunny and warm weather, rain returns the North Texas forecast this weekend.
Temperatures will be in the upper 60s to mid-70s from Thursday, Feb. 27, to Saturday, March 1, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Sunny and clear skies are expected over the next few days as well.
An upper level system will bring (30-40%) chances of scattered showers and thunderstorms to the Metroplex on Sunday, March 2. These storms are not expected to be severe, according to the NWS.
Storms continue next week
A stronger weather system will approach North Texas late Monday, March 3.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected with this system, including the latter increasing in coverage (50-60%) overnight Monday into Tuesday, March 4, according to the NWS. A few of these storms are expected to be severe, especially those east of Interstate 35.
Throughout the stormy weather over the weekend and early next week, temperatures are expected to stay fairly warm in the low to upper 70s.
