Have a foggy commute this morning? Here’s why Fort Worth was under a dense fog advisory
Early morning commuters may have been curious as to why North Texas was covered in fog early Monday, Feb. 24.
Much of the region was under a dense fog advisory until 10 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. A combination of factors was at play for the foggy morning.
“An expansive low cloud deck is spreading northwest with the increased moisture in a relatively cool air mass resulting in some patchy dense fog,” said a NWS meteorologist on the service’s forecast discussion page.
Warm week ahead for North Texas
Sunny skies are in the forecast for the rest of Monday as temperatures warm into the 70s.
Warm and sunny conditions will continue into Tuesday, Feb. 25, and Wednesday, Feb. 26, according to the NWS. A cold front will arrive in the Metroplex over Wednesday afternoon and evening, cooling down temperatures heading into Thursday, Feb. 27.
Thursday’s high will be in the 60s and temperatures are expected to climb back into the 70s on Friday, Feb. 28, and Saturday, March 1. By Sunday, March 2, North Texas could see scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours.
As of now, the NWS said there’s still several uncertainties with this storm system, including timing and the path of storms.
