Cold front bringing freezing weather to Fort Worth. Here’s when temperatures drop
North Texas is in store for widespread rainfall and isolated thunderstorms on Tuesday, Feb. 11 before a cold front arrives late Wednesday.
Rain is expected throughout Tuesday morning and into the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth. Patchy fog is likely after noon, and daily highs will be in the low 50s.
Rain chances will increase late Tuesday into early Wednesday, Feb. 12. Widespread rainfall and isolated thunderstorms will continue to be the main event, as rain totals ranging from half an inch to 2 inches are possible this week.
Severe weather is not expected with this weather and storms will exit the region by midday Wednesday, according to the NWS.
Cold front to freeze North Texas
A cold front will push into North Texas as storms exit Wednesday.
Wednesday’s daily high in the upper 50s will plummet into the mid-20s overnight, according to the NWS. Temperatures will be in the 20s early Thursday, Feb. 13, with wind chills in the 10s and 20s.
Thursday will warm up to the low 40s for the daily high and dip into the low 30s that evening. Freezing temperatures and wind chills will continue early Friday, Feb. 14, and gradually warm up into the mid-50s for the day.
All precipitation this week will end before freezing temperatures arrive in North Texas, according to the NWS.
