Isolated hail, severe storms in the mix for Fort Worth. Here’s when the weather will hit
After a relatively dry weekend, North Texas is in store for severe thunderstorms and possible hail this week.
Conditions will be calm on Monday, Jan. 27, and Tuesday, Jan. 28, ahead of the active weather later in the week, according to the National Weather Service Fort Worth.
Monday will be mostly sunny with a high in the low 50s, followed by overnight lows in 40s. Tuesday is expected to be cloudy, with highs in the upper 50s.
By late Tuesday, rain chances (30%) begin and continue to increase going into Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Midweek rain and severe weather threat
Widespread showers and storms will be in the mix from Wednesday to late Thursday, Jan. 30, according to the NWS.
Rainfall totals over the stretch could range from 1 to 3 inches, with 10% isolated coverage of 4 to 5 inches. Isolated flooding and strong to severe storms are possible.
There’s also an isolated threat for hail on Wednesday, the NWS said.
A few strong to severe storms are also in the mix for North Texas on Thursday, but the greater storm threat will be for Central Texas. Storms will exit the region by late Thursday, leading to a rain-free Friday, Jan. 31.
